  • reduplication of the root (CV -> CVCV)
  • CV -> C1vCV, where v is the short version of V [e.g. दा - ददाति];
        and C1 is the unaspirated version of C [e.g. धा - दधाति]
  • special rules:
        1.ऋ reduplicated with इ - [भृ -> बिभृ]
        2. velar C is reduplicated with a palatal C1
        3. ह् is reduplicated as ज् - [e.g. हु -> जुहु]
Notes
  • Third-person plural परस्मैपद ending loses न् (अन्ति -> अति)
