  • All class 7 verbs are of the form CVC, and either ‘’ (strong) or ‘न्’ (weak) is inserted into this structure after the vowel. (CVC or CVन्C)
  • Internal Sandhi:
        1. न् -> ण् rule applies to the strong infix when necessary
        2. in weak forms, ‘न्’ infix becomes nasal corresponding to the following consonant
            [e.g., युज् -> युनक्ति, युङ्क्तः, युञ्जन्ति]
        3. final consonant of stem undergoes sandhi with the endings:
            (a) aspirated stop loses aspiration before unaspirated stops
            (b) voiced unaspirated stop loses voice before unvoiced stops
            (c) palatals are unstable - become either velar or retroflex
            (d) other funny things happen
